On the evening of 4th May 2017 Stirling Dynamic’s (“Stirling”) CEO, Mr Mark Cook, attended the Assembly Rooms in Bath to receive the British Venture Capital Association’s (BVCA) Business Transformational Management Team Award for the South West and Wales region.
Now in its ninth year, the awards recognise and reward exemplary businesses and management teams up and down the country who have achieved extraordinary results whilst under private equity ownership. Stirling won the award based on the combined efforts of the management team, its employees and investment partner, Enact, in transforming the strategic, commercial and operational focus of the established advanced engineering business.
In 2014, Enact invested in Stirling to provide both financial and operational support as the business entered its next stage of growth. Enact is a dedicated small and medium-sized enterprise (“SME”) investor that operates as part of the transformational mid-market private equity fund manager Endless LLP.
Enact introduced Mark Cook as CEO in 2014 who, alongside his reinvigorated management team, led the transformation of the company through improving commercial awareness, driving operational improvements and delivering significant financial growth. Today, exports amount to over 70% of Stirling’s business supporting clients in North America, Western Europe and Asia Pacific. It maintains its proud position of supplying into many of the premier programmes in the world; from the F-35 with pilot training devices through to control system software for advanced submarine platforms. The company has recently delivered new designs for helicopter actuators, has multiple complex projects underway and continues to support major aircraft OEM’s around the world with the development of their new and legacy programmes.
