On 7 November, Leonardo announced its nine-month results for 2024, notifying the market of revenues amounting to €12,076 million an increased revenue – when compared with the first nine months of 2023 – which covers the majority of Leonardo business sectors but particularly in Defence Electronics and Security, and Helicopters.
From a helicopters perspective, Leonardo has stated 4,805 orders, a rise of 15% when compared with the company’s position a year ago. It was recently announced that Bristow will add four new AW189 helicopters to its offshore energy services fleet by 2025 and 2026.
The company’s most notable order increase compared with 2023 is in the cyber and security division with 586 orders: an order increase of 20.8%.
Roberto Cingolani, Leonardo CEO and General Manager, commented: “The consolidation and strengthening of our core defence business is proceeding in line with the objectives we have set thanks to the acceleration of the digitalisation process and the rationalisation of the portfolio […] We have defined, together with our customers and partners, the main elements of the GCAP program[me] which will become definitive with the formal signing of an industrial agreement by the end of the year. These elements provide strategic activities in the development of systems of systems for Leonardo. The evaluation of growth and development opportunities in the cyber and space sector also continues”.
