Inspire the Next Generation: Open Your Doors to Future Talent
Are you ready to develop an inclusive talent pipeline and make a lasting impact on the next generation?
As part of the WEAF Workforce and Skills Action Group, our recent cluster meetings have focused on recruitment challenges and there are initiatives underway to address them. A key priority is strengthening connections with education partners to ensure a steady flow of skilled talent into our sector.
That’s why we want to highlight an exciting opportunity from the West of England Combined Authority, designed to give young people hands-on exposure to careers in our industry—while helping businesses like yours attract fresh talent.
Open Your Doors to Future Talent
Imagine the impact of inviting local secondary school and college students—many of whom may never have considered a career in our field—into your workplace. By partnering with the West of England Combined Authority, you can offer these students invaluable experiences that could shape their futures while showcasing your organisation as an employer of choice.
The Authority, in collaboration with one of its trusted local delivery partners, is seeking businesses willing to host small groups of students for workplace visits. These visits will provide a behind-the-scenes look at your organisation, offer opportunities to interact with your team, and engage students in a fun, hands-on challenge or project. The goal is to complete these visits by the end of July.
Full Support for a Meaningful Experience
You won’t be doing this alone. The West of England Combined Authority’s delivery partner will work closely with you to design and facilitate an engaging and impactful visit, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
This is a fantastic opportunity to:
- Inspire the workforce of the future by showcasing career pathways in our sector.
- Support diversity and inclusion by reaching students from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Strengthen your employer brand and attract fresh talent.
Get Involved
If you’re based in Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, or North Somerset, and would like to take part, email gemma.perkins@westofengland-ca.gov.uk to express your interest.
For organisations outside of this area, the Authority can connect you with the equivalent team in your region—so why not get involved and inspire a young person to explore a future in our industry?
Let’s work together to develop the talent pipeline of tomorrow.
