Broadway Engineering, a leading aero-engine component manufacturer, has announced a significant expansion following the acquisition of the operations of AVPE and Redcliffe Precision, two Bristol-based aerospace suppliers.
The privately owned firm has a long history of producing complex parts for aero-engine customers and will use the acquisitions to diversify into airframe and aerostructures programmes.
The operations of AVPE and Redcliffe Precision, which were acquired following a restructuring, will trade as AVPE Systems and the company will supply OEM and Tier 1 customers throughout the UK, Europe, and Asia.
AVPE Systems’ offers complex machining, sub-assembly, and supply chain management, as well as highly specialised thread rolling and CNC grinding. The company supplies flight-critical parts for aircraft including A320, A350 and A220, as well as helicopters and military aircraft.
Seb Greene, Managing Director of Broadway Engineering, said: “This acquisition is a major milestone for Broadway and fantastic news for the customers and employees of AVPE and Redcliffe Precision.
Our combined business will supply critical parts to many of the world’s leading aerospace companies and employ over 150 highly-skilled workers here in the South West”.
Following the deal, which was finalised at the end of January, the combined business expects to turnover $25m annually and be well placed to grow as the global aerospace industry recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic.
