On 30th October, Airbus published its nine-month results for 2024, notifying the market of revenues reaching €44.5 billion.
The aerospace prime noted that it had delivered 497 commercial aircraft in 2024 so far, this was up by nine aircraft against last year’s nine-month results. Airbus signalled its commitment to delivering around 770 aircraft in total for the year, which equates to 273 planes to go in over six weeks. In addition, Airbus announced that its gross commercial aircraft orders totalled 667 with net orders (after cancellations) standing at 648 aircraft. As of 30th September, the order backlog stood at 8,749 commercial aircraft.
From a Helicopters perspective, Airbus has registered 308 net orders, a rise of 61% when compared with the company’s position a year ago. The intake includes 43 Super Puma helicopters. Interestingly, deliveries were at 190 units with revenues increasing by 5%. The Division continue to go from strength to strength as of 5 November, the Dutch MOD signed for 12 H225M helicopters for the air force.
Airbus Defence and Space’s order intake by value increased to €11 billion in relation to the nine-month 2023 results, where the division’s orders stood at € 8.5 billion.
Guillaume Faury, CEO of Airbus, commented: “We saw strong demand across our product range in the first nine months of the year. The nine-month earnings reflect the level of commercial aircraft deliveries, a solid performance in helicopters and the charges in our space business recorded in the first half.”
He continued, “We are constantly adapting to a complex and fast-changing operating environment marked by geopolitical uncertainties and specific supply chain challenges that have materialised in the course of 2024. We remain focused on our priorities, including ramping up commercial aircraft deliveries and transforming our Defence and Space division.”
