More about WEAF’s CEO: Colin Turner Bsc.Hons FRAeS

A trained Material Scientist. Colin’s experience in aerospace & engineering is wide.

Early days were spent working for British Nuclear Fuels.

University followed with a degree in Metals and Material Science at Leeds and then back into work within the gas turbine industry as a development engineer.

Then a varied career, spanning 12 years with Bodycote PLC, in Business Development and Marketing, Process Development, General/Operations management.

Colin joined Leonardo as a Senior Supplier Relationship Manager looking after suppliers with order book values of +£80m.

In Later years he held a senior role in the Procurement & Supply Chain Team, looking for new technology supplier partners to working on experimental and innovation projects leading to new helicopter products. Such as the Civil Tiltrotor and all electric tilt rotor

Colin worked with ADS on Supply Chain 21. Holding a position on the SC21 Steering group.

Since September 2018 he has held the post of CEO with WEAF the South West Aerospace and advanced engineering trade association which supports the development aerospace and space companies in South West region of UK. Regularly speaking at WEAF and supporting events.

Married with Three children and 2 mad Labradors, he relaxes by supporting his wife’s pub by brewing beer in their micro brewery.
